The brief

This building in Meadowbank sits on a corner block with two street entrances — one at 60 Nancarrow Ave, one at 116 Bowden Street. The existing tiled entrances had cracked and become a trip hazard, and the City of Ryde Council engaged us to rip them out and replace them with concrete.

What we did

It was a two-day job. On day one, we ripped out the old cracked tiles with an excavator fitted with a rock breaker, then excavated and formed up both entrances. On day two, we laid steel reinforcement and poured and finished the concrete in ‘Charcoal’, with a coved finish along the edges.

The result

Both entrances at the Meadowbank building now have a solid, compliant concrete surface in place of the old cracked tiles — safe for residents and visitors, and built to the standard the council required.

This is a civil concreting job, completed to council specification. You can see another council footpath job at Winston Hills.
