The luxury apartment building at 29 Billyard Avenue, Elizabeth Bay, with its curved facade

The brief

A luxury apartment building at 29 Billyard Avenue, Elizabeth Bay needed 36 window sills built in situ — one for every window on the building’s curved facade. No two were the same: every sill had to be individually custom made to fit its own window frame and follow the curve of the building at that point.

What we did

Each sill was built on site, window by window: formwork, then the pour, then polish. We built custom curved formwork to match each window opening, poured the concrete in situ, and once cured, ground and polished the surface to a clean architectural finish. We used Geostone ‘Architectural White’ polished concrete for every sill, supplied by Geostone Holcim and Readymix, so the finish is consistent across all 36.

The result

36 curved, polished concrete window sills, each individually fitted to its own window, finished to a high-end architectural standard across the whole building.

This is decorative concreting work, and we’re an approved Geostone installer.
